Convergent:
When a oceanic plate converges with a continental plate, the oceanic plate sinks down under the continental plates. The place where an oceanic plate goes down another plate into the mantle is called a Subduction subductionzones along an oceanic continental boundary creat a deep sea Trench is a long narrow deep deppresion on the sea floor . Many Trenches can occur around the margin of the pacific ocean because of subduction high tempatures wall causes rock to melt arount the ocean plate goes under the continent plate newly formed magma is forced up through the upper plate forming volcanos and mountain ranges of b.c (british columbia)
When a oceanic plate meets then another oceanic plate the older ,cooler, dreser oceanic plate bends and goes down (sinks) into the mantle a new crust is then formed as the magma rises and rises it will make volcanos. Oceanic convergence also creats deep sea trench the island japan ant the japan trench were formed by oceanic plates converging.
When 2 (two) plates og continental crust collides and crumples up tall mountain ranges may form ,earthquakes are very common at these convergent boundaries . Volcanos will not form however because there is little or no subduction when 2 (two) continental plates collide
DIVERGENT BOUNDARY
A divergant boundary occurs when the plates move a way from each othere as shown sea floor spreadings occurs along a divergant boundarys the mid atlantic ridge in the atlantic ocean a example of a divergant boundary
TRANSFORM BOUNDARY
Occur when 2 (two) plates slide past each othere the plate moves int he opposite directions or in the same direction st different times. When one plate slips past another ) like some body slipping on a bannana peel ) plate suddenly an earth quake happens . The pacific plate is sliding past north American plate, forming the san Andreas Fault in California.

Measuring Plate movement
Earthquakes volcanos, and mountain ranges are evidence of plate movement. The theory of plate tectonics suggest that connection currents inside earth can effect the crust diffrently in different locations. You have seen how the plates have moved since Pangaea separated. How do you think scientist measure the distances the plates move each year scientist now use satellite and laser technology to measure the exact movements of the plates,to the nearest centimetre. Laser pulses are shot from the ground to a satellite to determine an exact locatin on the ground. New data confirm that parts of the crust are moving from 1 two (2) 12 each year. For example the Atlantic ocean is exponding. North America and Europe are being carried about 3 cm (centimetre) farther apart each year. Hawaii is moving toward Japan at a rate about 8.3 cm (centimetre) each year.
